Spending Ban Update #2

Day 21: I'm so excited that I'm actually doing well on this spending ban. As a result, I noticed that I've spent a little more on food. lol. I use to sacrifice food for beauty products and such, I think you other spendaholics can relate. That foundation would be way better than eating. Overall I am not spending near as much as I was, previous to this ban. I haven't even bought one nail polish, which is a huge achievement. I planned to going on a 30 day spending ban, some of the other girls are going for 60. Even though the spending ban will be over after October 9th I'm not going to go shopping just because I can. It will defeat the whole purpose. This week in general was a lot easier, I didn't even have an urge to go shopping so I think this ban will help me in the long run as well. Fall time is coming and my birthday was last week so my mom bought me some jeans and a rain coat. The only money I have spent so far is $20 on some perfume since I ran out of

Julep Unboxing #2

I know this is late but here is my box for the month! My box was send to my house but I am away at school in a different state so it was sitting at home for a while. I was able to go home over the weekend so I thought I would do this even though this is late! This is my second Maven box and I've unsubscribed for a while because my nail polish/ spending addiction is a little overboard (If you're a frequent reader, you probably know I'm also on a spending ban right now). Both months I have gotten the Boho Glam box which has been perfect for my style.  "If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough."  -Ellen Johnson Sirleaf  Here is what I got in this month's box. Two nail polishes and some skin care. I absolutely love the nail polishes. Of course, I always wear black in the cooler months and this one is called Kristy. The other one is called Tatiana, I'm not even sure how to explain this color it's a sparkly orangey,

Men's Fall Fashion 2013

Today I'm starting something new! I'm going to start a "For Him" section on my blog. I'm not quite sure how this will work out exactly but a few people have suggested this to me so I thought I'd give it a try. If you have any suggestions for these type of posts let me know in the comments section below!:) For my first post I thought I'd start with some fall fashion. I got my inspiration for this post from my brother, cousins, Pinterest and some other research. This will just be like an overall fashion post mostly about colors to look for when you're shopping and how to transition from summer to fall time! Let me know what you think! It isn't too cold yet so you don't want to go overboard with layers in the beginning of fall. These first two photos are from the runway but I'll show you how to translate it into a more wearable look. You might be asking yourself, "blue? Isn't that more of a spring color?" On the runways there

Spending Ban Update #1

Spending ban update..... Day 10: If you didn't know I am on a spending ban with a bunch of other bloggers, like me. We confess, we are all shopaholics! Details.....I cannot buy clothing, shoes, other accessories, skin care or home decor for thirty days. Some of the other bloggers are doing it for sixty but there's no way I can make it that long. I am only allowed to buy food and other necessities for living. No, that sale sweater is not a necessity. As to my surprise I have not broken this ban! I have not purchased anything in 10 days, besides food! It was really hard at the beginning especially because I always like pick up a nail polish or a new shirt, just because. I've also moved into a new apartment at school so nothing is decorated, it's just basic and empty. It's hard to sit in my near empty apartment and not go buy some home decor to give this place some character. I also have been really wanting some shoes but I think I can manage the whole thirty da

Limited Edition "Just Say Yes" - Zoella Sunglasses

Image
As you know I am on a spending ban. Before this spending ban started I ordered some Detour limited edition "Just Say Yes"- Zoella sunglasses online and they just came in on Friday so I was super excited to get my sunglasses since I haven't been shopping at all recently! They were only $35, which is awesome because normally I just end up losing or breaking sunglasses fairly quickly. I also wear them in my two most recent videos on YouTube so if you want to see me wearing them click here>>>>  http://www.youtube.com/user/HannahBananasLife Have you gotten your Zoella sunglasses? Comment below! If you have questions or suggestions you know where to leave them!:) Lots of love,  Hannah Connect With Me: Twitter  |  Facebook  |  Pinterest  |  Instagram  |  YouTube

Black High Top Converse Outfits

Back to some outfit ideas! I feel like I haven't done one of these in a while! I'm not sure why I don't do these more often because it seems like I get the most views on these types of posts. If you would comment down below and let me know what you think that would help me out a lot!:) I like to make sure I post things you will enjoy. black high top converse outfits by hannahgomez featuring converse shoes This was aimed at the black monochrome high top converse. I bought a pair of these, not knowing what I'd possibly wear them with but I got them because it was something new and different. I haven't seen many people wearing these, really nobody at all and maybe it's for a reason but I thought I'd give them a try. The outfits on the far left and right I have actually worn with these black converse. The only thing a tiny bit different is the striped shirt. I wasn't able to find my exact one since I got mine so long ago but it is quite simil

Once she stopped rushing through life, she was amazed how much more life she had time for

I started off jotting things down in my notes section of my phone a while back but I wasn't consistent and I didn't feel like jotting down something electronically could possibly feel the same. I thought I'd go buy a journal and see what happened! I've never really kept a journal before but I thought now was a good time to start. I'm starting to find myself as a person and I feel like I am at a huge turning point in my life. I am a junior in college and I am just beginning a whole new chapter of life. Grade school is long gone and now I am able to live life, experience new things and hopefully I'll be able to study abroad before the end of my college career.  Just considering college life, it really has gone by faster than I ever would have imagined. My first two years of college I had the mindset to just "get things done" I truthfully wanted it to be over with and just get my degree. Now, one month into my third year, I am finally able to

Thirty Day Spending Ban!

For you bloggers out there you know shopping can be somewhat of a problem, or spending money in general. That being said, I decided it was time for a spending ban!  Sophie Rosee  originally started this spending ban. If you want to see her original post about it click the link at the end of the post! In general what this will ban is pretty much anything fun. No new make-up, skin care, clothes, hair care, home decor, unless it's completely necessary. Like if you run out of face wash, go buy some but that's it! Of course, you will be able to buy food but no shopping just for fun. I started this ban on September 9th and so far I'm doing great! (I know it's only been 2 days but still, that's good for me. lol) I went grocery shopping yesterday and it was so hard not to venture into the makeup section but I successfully completed that shopping trip without buying anything unnecessary. Sophie thought it would be good to do this ban for at least 30 days, or 60 days if

Lush: Mermaid Water!

Image
You know I am a big fan of Lush! When I went into Lush over the weekend they showed me something new, called mermaid water!! How am I just now finding out about this? Have you known about this?  If you don't know, I'm going to tell you all about it! It is the Big Blue Bath Bomb and Sunny Side Bubble Bar, together! Oh my, amazingness times two. I already loved Sunny Side so instantly I fell in love. Big Blue smells like the ocean and Sunny Side has a nice citrusy smell that turns your bath water into liquid gold. The two mixed together is this gorgeous golden turquoise color.   Below are some photos on the Internet I found that other people have posted of the actual water. I would say it is something in between those two photos plus more blueish. I have a photo of what my water looked like on instagram. So follow me on instagram if you want to see what mine looked like! It smells amazing, it's super relaxing and it makes your skin sooo soft! You definitely

Fashion Pick of the Week: Burgundy Brocade Oxfords

Image
I feel like I show you lots of shoes but I can't help it. I just love shoes. This week is a cool patterned pair of oxford-looking shoes. They are by the brand Seychelles, which are some of the most comfortable shoes you will ever put on your feet. It's hard to find cute, comfortable, affordable shoes. Affordable is the key word, these are $100 but are very worth it and will last a lot longer than those cute shoes you found at Forever 21. I know that it can be very difficult choosing good shoes so I have done the searching for you and will only show you the best of the best. Do you have a pair of Seychelles? If you have any questions about these shoes or anything else you know where to leave them:) Would you wear these? Buy them here:  http://seychellesfootwear.com/Home.tpl?page=singleitem.inc&cart=13090479426&sku=byyours9sf&H_P_Special=by%20your%20side# Be sure and leave your questions or suggestions down below in the comments section! DIY: Apartment Art

Image
This one kind of explains itself. You'll need a picture frame, some card stock and lipstick! Seriously it's that easy. I already had tons of lipstick so all I had to buy was the picture frame. It got this one for $9.99 at TJ Maxx. If you have any questions about this project or anything else leave them below in the comments section! This is a photo collage inspired by Bethany Mota. She has a YouTube channel where she talks about beauty, fashion and everything in between. I'll leave her photo collage video at the end of this post. This is such a fun way to decorate your room because it's really personalized. I used photos of my family and I, and other photographs I've taken while on trips. Of course, if you love YouTube as much as I do, you see that picture of Sam Pepper:) Haha I went to one of his meet ups, if you want to see more of those photos go here>>>>>>  http://hannahgomezofficial.blogspot.com/2013/03/sam-pepper-meet-up-ootd.h
